Decatur, Indiana-based American Coach introduced the new 2016 American Eagle at the Florida RV Trade Association’s (FRVTA) Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa, January 14-18, at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
The $699,000 motorhome is built on a Freighliner SLM Series Liberty 600 chassis and ushers in a new design language for the company, said Steven Hileman, marketing director, in a news release.
“It’s all new DNA for American Coach,” he added.
The motorhome was designed in cooperation with designers from the United Kingdom as well as with assistance from Freightliner and Daimler. It features more than 200 new design points.
One key feature is the optional emergency exit door from the back bedroom designed to give owners peace of mind that they can exit their coach safely in an emergency.
The new cockpit is fully digital with LCD gauges monitoring critical functions in the motorhome using the Silverleaf Total Coach Control system. The navigation system is a dash-mounted removable iPad with driver and passenger user controls. Cockpit integration offers navigation, radio, and camera controls to give a passenger official “copilot” status.
“The 2016 American Eagle features European construction techniques and eight new wood finishes,” said Hileman.
