MVP Introduces Zero Emission Class C Motorhome

Riverside, California-based MVP RV Inc. announced Tuesday (November 29) it will introduce the pre-production E Tahoe, the world’s first Class C zero emission motorhome solely powered by electricity produced from life source rare earth lithium-ion batteries at the 49th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, that runs from November 29 to December 1 at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC).

In late 2010, MVP RV made a statement in the RV industry by being the world’s first manufacturer to introduce an all-electric Class A motorhome at the EVS 25 Show in Shenzhen, China.

MVP RV President and CEO Brad Williams said that the energy-efficient, all-electric drive vehicles produced by the company will help the environment by having zero emissions, no carbon footprints, and low noise, among many other environmentally friendly characteristics.

The pre-production E Tahoe is fitted with a drive train, charger, and battery system developed by Harbor City, California-based Balqon Corp., a leading developer and manufacturer of zero emission heavy-duty electric trucks, lithium battery packs and electric vehicle drive systems.

The company expects that the production models will feature higher capacity batteries that will dramatically increase the range between charges and also reduce charging time.

MVP RV Inc.

In July 2008, MVP RV Acquisition Corporation, an affiliation of top executives at Thor California, Inc., agreed to purchase Thor California, Inc., the Moreno Valley-based subsidiary of Thor Industries, Inc. The new ownership team renamed the company MVP RV.

As MVP RV, the company continued to manufacture the highly successful lines of recreational vehicles including Wave, Summit, and Jazz travel trailers and fifth wheels along with Tahoe and Vortex toy hauler lines, previously produced by Thor California.

But they didn’t stop there. Putting significant resources into research and development, the new company released four new towable lines—Coast, Sonoma, EnVy, and Impact during its first year. MVP also produces the Tahoe Class C motorhome.
