Bella Terra RV Resort – Foley, Alabama

9.6 rating

A Class A motorhome resort, Bella Terra is about 30 minutes south of I-10 via the Baldwin Beach and Foley Beach Expressways. The roads into and around the Resort are paved and wide while the sites are concrete and roomy. Sites are level, and more than adequate in length with space for parking the toad. Utilities are to the rear of the site with sewer more toward the middle.

The resort is about 5 miles from Foley and 8 miles from Gulf Shores and the white-sand beaches.

Top tip: Many wonderful places to dine in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Had a great dinner at the Sunset Cork Room. Delicious food and great wine selection. Highly recommended.

There was a sign at our site welcoming us by name. We received a jar of jam when we arrived. We chatted with the owners and they are wonderful. Customer satisfaction is the name of the game with them.

Approximately 4 miles north of I-10 (Exit 10), the resort is big-rig friendly. All About Relaxing features 41 pull-through and back-in RV sites, a year round swimming pool, guest laundry facility, high-end restrooms and shower stalls, pavilion with outdoor kitchen, and dog run.

New in 2016 Pala Casino RV Resort offers 17 pull-through sites, 72 feet in length; 47 back-in sites, 55 feet in length; and 6 back-in sites, 60 feet in length. All sites are 30 feet in width with grass lawns and a picnic table. A 5-star resort, the park has wide paved interior roads and concrete sites. 50/30/20-amp electric service, water, sewer, and cable TV (48 channels) are located towards the rear of our pull-through site (#80); Wi-Fi works very well.

Lake Osprey RV Resort – Elberta, Alabama

9.2 rating

Lake Osprey is a resort-style RV park, one of the better resort you’ll find, a true model for a top quality RESORT to be modeled after. The resort offers free laundry and a full exercise room along with a heated pool with hot tub. The sites are long and level with full hook-ups with a cement pad. The lakeside sites are for motorhomes to pull in and face the lake.

Since our stay the resort was purchased by Robert’s Resorts and have since added two additional sections and other improvements.

Top tips: Everyone should eat at Lamberts in Foley at least once. Be sure to visit the charming town of Fairhope while there.

A+ Motel & RV Park – Sulphur, Louisiana

9.1 rating

The motel is in front and RV park behind it. A relatively new RV park with utilities located centrally on our 75-foot pull-through sites. Back-in sites are also available on the pond. Very spacious, roomy concrete sites with picnic table and grass between. There is a man made fishing pond in the center of the park, kids can enjoy. Has two pools, one for adults only. And it’s quiet.

We did a day trip on the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. Along the way we observed numerous birds including hundreds of roseate spoonbills in three locations, cormorants, anhingas, great blue herons, great white egrets, snowy egrets, cattle egrets, gulls, hawks.

Top tip: Zulu King Cake at Misse’s Grocery in Sulphur. Mmmm delicious!
