EverGreen RV Introduces New I-GO Bunkhouse Floor Plans

Middlebury, Indiana-based EverGreen Recreational Vehicles’ I-GO brand brand offers one of the largest floor plan selections of the entire EverGreen family.

Now there are even more family friendly bunkhouse models to choose from with the introduction of the G240DBD (Double Bunk with Dinette) and G291DBS (Double Bunk with Slide), according to a company news release.

The new models provide more choices in kid friendly bunkhouse models with large slide rooms that provide additional space for dining, gathering, and sleeping. All the EverGreen I-GO brands are built lightweight for easy towing.

New G240DBD

The G240DBD features an open layout with plenty of room for the entire family. A large, single slide opens across from the kitchen area for entertaining. The large slide houses a 90-inch U-shaped dinette with plenty of space for eating or watching the optional 32-inch  flat screen TV. The TV sits on a swivel entertainment center with radius sides that separates the living area from the master bedroom so the TV can be viewed from either room.

An angled entry to the large double bunks provides easy access for the kids with a privacy curtain when it’s time to sleep. Six adults can sleep comfortably in the G240DBD. The bathroom features a 40-inch tub/shower and a medicine cabinet provides storage for toiletries. While enjoying the outdoors, preparing meals is easy with an outside kitchen that comes standard. An outdoor range, sink and refrigerator keep the fun outside longer—perfect for large families.

G291DBS for 2015

The larger G291DBS maximizes space with a massive living room slide and an additional entry door off the rear bath—for the kids. The main entrance is in the living area and kitchen. There is plenty of seating for everyone in the slide with a sofa and large dinette. The generous 40-inch tub in the bathroom makes for easy clean-up with the kids right off the rear door access.

There is a double bunk that can sleep four adults in the rear of the coach with an easy access angled entry and a bunk ladder shelf to help enter the top bunk smoothly.

Both models have plenty of bedroom storage, from the wardrobes on either side of the 60-inch by 80-inch queen bed to the overhead storage above the bed and lift up storage below the bed. Fully equipped kitchens include a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and single basin sink. When preparing meals the range cover increases counter space. The finished, lighted pass-through storage at the front of the coach offers a solution to all the extra camping gear and equipment.

All I-GOs share EverGreen’s quality construction features like the DuraLite six-sided double welded cage construction that provides a secure frame for the ultimate in durability. The one-of-a-kind TPO roof is mechanically applied to prevent bubbles or lifting and requires no maintenance to save money down the road. Electrical lines and mechanicals are isolated by the ducted, heated enclosed underbelly, which also helps to keep tanks from freezing.

Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser: Preferred Choice In Ultra-Lightweight Trailers

Nappanee, Indiana-based Gulf Stream Coach introduced the Vista Cruiser, an ultra-lightweight trailer in the fall of 2009.

Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser: Preferred Choice In Ultra-Lightweight Trailers
Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser: Preferred Choice In Ultra-Lightweight Trailers

A design experiment in ultra-low weight construction and ultimate aerodynamics, the Vista Cruiser has turned into a preferred choice among RVers who plan to log serious mileage and spend many days and nights on the road camping, according to a company news release.

Long-haul RVers are flocking to the Vista Cruiser for two fundamental features that have been a part of Vista Cruiser since it first hit dealer lots six years ago.

Extremely low weight and fuel-saving aerodynamics combine to minimize wear-and-tear on the tow vehicle, reduce fuel expenses, and enable RVers to go farther, stay longer, and enjoy more time away from home, according to the release.

The heart of the wind-cheating aerodynamics of the Vista Cruiser is a seamless fiberglass panel up to 26 feet long that stretches from the front hitch to the rear bumper, creating a curved front wall, roof, and rear wall, with no seams, joints, or corners.

Also contributing is a lowered frame that lets the Vista Cruiser slip under air that traditional height units have to plow through, reducing fuel consumption and saving money.

A welded six-way aluminum frame and vacuum-bonded laminated walls with synthetic substrates provide ultra-low weights that reduce wear and tear on tow vehicles and make the Vista Cruiser easy to hitch up, maneuver, and tow, even on long trips.

“Since its introduction, RV enthusiasts have been quick to realize the overall benefits of the Vista Cruiser design, realizing it provides an ideal platform for long, high-mileage trips, as well as short, impromptu getaways,” said Tim Dennig, Vista Cruiser national sales manager.

“It also turns mini vans and smaller SUVs into tow vehicles, further reducing the cost and complexity of camping.”

“We’ve seen significantly increased interest at the spring shows this year, with the introduction of our new interior decors and exterior graphics, too,” Dennig added.

The Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser is built with an aluminum frame, laminated fiberglass walls, and unique aerodynamic profile that provides 6 feet 11 inches of interior headroom in a go-anywhere, do-anything lightweight travel trailer you can tow with your mini-van or small SUV.

Included in every Vista Cruiser is our passion to build travel trailers of the finest craftsmanship, value, and durability using state-of-the-art eco-friendly composites inside and out, stated the release.

The Vista Cruiser line of ultra-light travel trailers is currently available in 10 floor plans 20 to 26 feet in length, on single and double axles, with weights ranging from 2,600 pounds to 3,900 pounds.

Gulf Stream Vista Cruiser standard features include 20,000 BTU furnace, 2-burner cook-top, 3-way 7.0 cubic foot refrigerator, 6-foot 11-inch interior headroom, two 20-pound LP gas bottles, 6 gallon DSI gas water heater, and 30-amp detachable 28-foot power cord.

Popular options include microwave oven, bumper mounted gas grill with quick connect for LP gas, 19-inch and 29-inch LCD HD TV, 13,500 BTU air conditioner, power awning, and home theater stereo with Blu-Tooth and speakers.

Keystone Passport Achieves Milestone

Goshen, Indiana-based Keystone RV Company’s Passport Ultra Lite division achieved an industry milestone in record time, as the 35,000th Passport trailer rolled off the Goshen assembly line.

passport_gray_exterior_groupCelebrating in grand fashion, the Passport sales team handed over the keys to Nathan and Justin Hart of Walnut Ridge Family RV Sales of New Castle, Indiana, in front of the whole plant.

First introduced as a 2007 model, Passport’s retail sales hit an all time high in 2014.

“We have stayed true to the core of the ultra lite market and strived to keep weights low,” said Product manager Ryan Shuff, in a news release.

“One hundred percent of the Passport product line is truly half-ton towable, even by older tow vehicles. And we didn’t stop there—today an entire segment of the Passport product line is towable by the new crossover vehicles.”

“As a family-owned dealership, it is important to have a partner like Keystone providing us with products that hit the sweet spot of the market,” said Walnut Ridge President Nathan Hart.

“The Passport is dialed-in for today’s buyers. In addition, Keystone gives us the personal attention we believe important to help us better serve our customers. We know that if necessary, we can always call the Keystone factory and get our customers the assistance they need.”

Your road is everything that a road ought to be…

And yet you will not stay in it half a mile, for the reason that little, seductive, mysterious roads are always branching out from it on either hand, and as these curve sharply also and hide what is beyond, you cannot resist the temptation to desert your own chosen road and explore them.

Dutchmen Introduces 20th anniversary Aerolite Ultralight Travel Trailer

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Aerolite ultralight travel trailers, Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc. announced it will introduce an all new, totally redesigned 20th Anniversary Edition Aerolite at this year’s Elkhart County RV Open House, September 16-18.

Dutchmen Introduces 20th anniversary Aerolite Ultralight Travel Trailer

“In many respects, Aerolite was the original ultralight travel trailer,” said Nick Eppert, Aerolite general manager, in a company news release.

“It was ahead of its time in the beginning, and this 20th Anniversary Edition builds on that tradition.”

“Aerolite has consistently introduced original, creative features and amenities,” said Troy James, Dutchmen vice president of sales.

“This 20th Anniversary Edition will continue that focus.”

Starting mid-September, all Aerolites produced will come with unique 20th Anniversary badging inside and out, bringing attention to the rich history of the Aerolite brand.

Normally, a company will single out one model to produce with special edition packaging, but not so with Aerolite.

“Every single model we produce will carry special features and options,” Eppert explained.

“The Aerolite 20th Anniversary Edition will not be a retro throwback. It will be solely focused on the future, with an inventive cutting-edge exterior design, upgraded plush residential interior and new, innovative floor plans.”

The 20th Anniversary Aerolite will be presented in the Dutchmen display at the RV Hall of Fame Museum in Elkhart September 16 to 18.

EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans

One of the new ultra-light product lines expanded by EverGreen Recreational Vehicles for 2014 is the Ascend travel trailer.

EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans
EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans

Now available in seven floor plans from 17 to 23 feet, the Ascend is a favorite among entry-level families as well as seasoned empty nesters, the company noted in a news release.

Just because a travel trailer is smaller, lighter, and easier to tow doesn’t mean it can’t be packed with all the key features for maximum comfort on remote camping trips. With the Ascend, campers aren’t required to buy a bigger tow vehicle. Smaller SUVs, crossovers, light trucks, minivans, or even large sedans can pull the Ascend.

Entry level or small ultra-light coaches generally skimp on amenities and quality construction to lower the weight. Ascend from EverGreen is engineered to be lightweight without compromising key appliances and essential equipment.

The first thing RV enthusiasts will notice about the Ascend is its unique shape. The distinctive curved front of the coach makes it aerodynamic, but also has weather-resistant qualities. Composed of a single piece of fiberglass material, the front seamlessly covers the entire roof of the travel trailer as well, allowing water to run right off rather than pooling and creating leaks.

This fiberglass roof, as well as the rest of the exterior walls of the coach, is vacuum laminated over the lightweight DuraLite Double Welded Aluminum Structure. Welded rather than screwed, with full framing around all door and window openings, this frame is built to be tough, flexible and durable. Another weight-saving feature is the Ascend’s ComposiTek construction in the inner sidewalls.

EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans
EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans

Composites are lighter than wood but four times stronger, and resist mold, mildew, and rot that can eventually destroy travel trailers made entirely of wood. The underside of the Ascend floor is also vacuum laminated with ComposiTek, creating an additional barrier from road grime and unwanted pests.

Lighted and finished exterior pass-through storage is also aluminum framed and easily accessible from inside through the aluminum framed bed base with gas struts for added convenience.

Available in bunkhouse, rear lounge, and rear bath configurations the Ascend is more spacious inside than you might think and filled with residential-style. The cabinets are screwed and glued, not stapled, with raised panels in the upper storage areas. Not only stylish, the cabinets provide ample room for stowing camping gear—a shortcoming in many smaller travel trailers. Drawers are fitted with smooth ball bearing drawer guides that won’t warp or stick under the weight of a full drawer.

There’s plenty of light inside the Ascend due to integrated skylights in the living area and large, frameless bonded and tinted windows with pleated shades. Plenty of energy efficient LED lighting keeps the Ascend bright inside at night without depleting power sources. The floor is made of a comfortable padded vinyl that is warrantied against cold cracking.

Queen beds with innerspring mattresses make campers feel more like they’re sleeping at home. The 19-foot trailers have an island queen bed. Another nice touch, not usually found in ultra-lights, is the double door refrigerator/freezer in the galley area with an optional microwave or three-in-one convection oven/microwave.

EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans
EverGreen Expands Ultra-Light Ascend Product Line to 7 Floor Plans

In the bath, the separate shower is a standard feature not found on many lightweight travel trailers this size. A stylish neo-angle glass shower door is available as an option. The skylight over the tub provides additional natural lighting in the bathroom.

Ascend’s six-gallon gas/electric DSI water heater lets the owner choose the energy source. An Atwood on-demand tankless water heater is a great option not normally seen on travel trailers in the 17 to 23 foot long range. Dual 20-pound LP tanks with a cover and machine-crimped fittings help to supply ample propane for remote trips. For those who want to plug in, a marine-style detachable power cord with LED lights help to light the way.

If campers are looking for entertainment, there’s a TV hookup with antenna, and the Ascend travel trailer is wired for a CD/ DVD player with interior speakers and the option of having an entertainment system that is compatible with USB powered music players like i-Pods and smart phones.

One additional unique feature is EverGreen’s decision to place the water tank over the axles to reduce tongue weight and better balance the coach for smooth towing.

EverGreen backs up their craftsmanship with one of the best warranties in the business. The first year of camping is covered by a year of free roadside assistance, with a one-year limited and three-year structural warranty.

Safari Condo Introduces Teardrop with Retractable Roof

Saint-Nicolas, Quebec-based Safari Condo introduced the Alto R Series (R-1713 and R-1723) camping trailers.

Both tear drop trailers are lightweight and boast an aerodynamic shape increasing the ease of towing.

The design incorporates an electric retractable roof providing more interior space than traditional teardrop trailers.

The desire to combine the aerodynamic features with an increased vertical space inside led to the retractable roof design, according to Daniel Nadeau, CEO of Safari Condo.

Alto R Series (retractable roof)

With an exterior height of only 83.5 inches with the roof down, all R-series Alto models fit easily in a garage. With the roof up, they offer a comfortable living space with an 82-inch interior clearance.

Their front dining area is usable even with the rear bed deployed. Beds, fridge, storage, and toilet are all usable even with the roof down.

You can create two different dining areas by simply moving the table. A model with indoor shower is available.

The seamless aluminum retractable roof is built in a single piece of curved Alufiber/aluminum sandwich panel. It is opened and closed by a pair of electric linear actuators. Its crescent-shaped windows are tinted tempered glass.

With the retractable roof down, the aerodynamic shape of the Alto, developed in a virtual wind tunnel, creates 75 percent less aerodynamic drag than a traditional travel trailer. This factor, along with its lightweight, makes the Alto readily towable by most compact cars and small SUVs.

Worth Pondering…

There is little to disturb me

But the pine squirrel falling cones.

In the inlet is a splashing,

It’s the dollys in a fight

Over who will use that riffle

For to spawn their eggs tonight.
