Tampa SuperShow RV Resort Participation & Kidd-Eyster Fuel Survey

Tallahassee, Florida-based Kidd RV Resort Consulting, an integrated marketing firm specializing in the RV industry, reports on RV resort participation at the recent Tampa RV SuperShow and the Kidd-Eyster annual motorcoach resort fuel survey gathered at the show.

RV Resort Participation

2013 Tampa RV SuperShow

RV resort participation remained flat at the recent Tampa RV SuperShow.

Twenty-five resorts were represented this year, the same as last year, but down from 53 during 2011. The 25 resorts represented 10 no-shows from the previous year, replaced by 10 new resorts to the show this year.

According to self reports, sales and interest at RV resorts represented at the show have been strong year over year.

“The resorts that we are associated with, such as Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort, Sunnybrook RV Resort, Hearthside Grove Motorcoach Resort, and Heritage Motor Coach Resort, enjoyed double-digit sales this past year, which we find very encouraging,” says Jerry Kidd, president of Kidd RV Consulting in a news release.

“The 10 new resorts represented at the 2013 Tampa RV SuperShow are at lower price points than the more luxurious resorts that didn’t attend this year, such as Heritage and Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama. In fact, Heritage did not attend the show this year due to selling out most of their lots prior to the start of 2013.”

Kidd-Eyster Fuel Survey

Regarding the Kidd-Eyster annual motorcoach resort fuel survey gathered at the show, this year’s results demonstrated that RVers’ driving habits were unchanged during 2012. Sentiments have remained the same with respondents indicating that if fuel prices continue to decline, more than 70 percent of RVers would increase their travel plans or behaviors.

“As in 2012, the majority of RVers responded that they would travel until fuel prices reach $8/gallon which is looking like it’s a long way off. Fuel prices are continuing to head down, and RVers are beginning to feel more positive, indicating RVers will be getting out on the road even more in the year to come,” Kidd said.

and experience this beautiful country.

Founded by entrepreneur and engineer Mike Neundorfer, Advanced RV is a motorhome manufacturer that sells directly to consumers.

Neundorfer decided to found the company to fulfill his passion for travel elegance and great design.

“I love to travel, I love to build things, and I pride myself on creating an outstanding team of designers and craftsmen who together can create exceptional quality and elegance,” said Neundorfer in a news release.

“Each vehicle is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform, which is then enhanced with accommodations to deliver five-star living. Plus, customers have the freedom to choose options and upgrades that fit the way they want to travel.”

“Rather than asking a customer to order a mass-produced RV, we want to deliver a vehicle that’s personalized for the way that customer wants to travel, be it for weekend trips to visit family, travel with their pets, group hunting or fishing trips, or extended trips to tour our beautiful national parks. I foresee our customers as being the most discerning RV shoppers,” Neundorfer added.

In addition to personalizing motorhomes, Advanced RV is also dedicated to more personalized service.

“As someone who has purchased multiple motorhomes, I can attest to how painful the process can be,” said Neundorfer.

“But I’ve also experienced how engaging and exciting it can be. My goal is to delight each customer at every step of the buying process—and beyond. I want to deliver customer service that sets the bar for the industry.”

Advanced RV models offer the following features:

  • Diesel-powered amenities: Cabin heat and on demand hot water from diesel system for improved comfort, control, and quiet efficiency
  • Silverleaf Coach Systems Control and Monitoring: A color touch screen control provides information and control for HVAC comfort, tank levels, generator operation, and battery status
  • More refrigerator storage: Largest in class, 7.2 cubic feet, with a removable freezer compartment
  • Luxurious cabinetry: Elegant, seamlessly designed granite counter tops and extensive storage capacity; cabinet design, quality, and beauty traditionally found in the finest homes
  • Large, comfortable sofa-bed: Queen size sofa bed has comfort design spring and foam for both comfortable sitting and sleeping
  • Extended chassis: Extended Sprinter, with Mercedes-Benz recommended heavy duty front axle and enhanced suspension options
  • Heated floor: Warm radiance floor with exclusive durable tile and luxury, easy-to-clean carpet
  • Quality sound and entertainment system: 22-inch flat screen HDTV with front and rear Pioneer DVD players, radio, and 14 JL audio speakers for optimal sound quality; system is integrated front to back with a separate subwoofer that automatically switches sources when watching movies for a theater-like experience
  • Large capacity air conditioner: 15,000-BTU quiet, high-efficiency unit with variable fan speed, the highest capacity air conditioner available on a Mercedes-Benz Class B motorhome

Advanced RV vehicle platform features three base Sprinter models, each of which can be personalized with the aforementioned features. The company builds each unit to order, and therefore plans to produce just 50 units per year.

Advanced RV is now taking deposits to guarantee placement in the 2013 production schedule.

The Ocean One model will be on display at the Tampa RV SuperShow, January 16 to 20 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.
