Pender, Nebraska-based Blue Ox announced the introduction of the Avail motorhome mounted tow bar during the National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, December 2-4, 2014.
“The Avail has many new features previously unavailable on motorhome mounted tow bars that will excite motorhome owners who want to take their cars or trucks with them as they travel,” said Blue Ox President and CEO Ellen Kietzmann in a news release.
“These features include improved turning radius with better cornering, more maneuverability, and smoother towing over rough roads. With the Avail , the motorhome maneuvers around gas pumps with greater ease and keeps the towed vehicle safely away from the motorhome in tight turns.”
Other features include patented non-binding latches that release easily under any conditions, and no interference, low profile handle design.
The Avail has a 10,000-pound tow capacity accommodating virtually all cars and pickups. It is constructed with high-quality tempered steel ensuring long life and durability and back by a three-year warranty.
“We reinvented the tow bar, not only in function, but also, in appearance. The Avail features the Blue Ox name in a raised, gold-toned badge. The arms are painted in a premium metallic copper paint,” said Chad Wall, Blue Ox marketing manager.
“Previously, the arms were painted black with Blue Ox name in white. This distinctive new look increases ‘curb appeal’ and more closely matches the colors used in the livery designs found on today’s motor coaches and will attract attention from other RVers who see it at campgrounds.”
Blue Ox is known internationally for its quality towing products, from tow bars and baseplates, to steering control systems, supplementary brakes, carriers, weight distributing, and gooseneck hitches and everything in between.
With a product and accessory line as diverse as their customer base, Blue Ox has everything to meet your recreational or commercial needs.

“Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin’ go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space.”
It could be the theme song of every RVer, though it’s not likely what Steppenwolf had in mind when they recorded Born to be Wild in 1968.
