Lil Snoozy Still Goes Camping

It has been more than five years since I first reported on the nationwide launch of the Lil’ Snoozy, a small fiberglass lightweight travel trailer.

The birth of the “Lil Snoozy” small travel trailer came after years of experience with camping, house-boating, motorhomes, and the endless search for the perfect design to fit an unlimited array of needs.

Alan Smoak brought four decades of fiberglass and composite experience to bear on the creation of the Lil’ Snoozy small travel trailer. His dissatisfaction with the quality of small trailers in the RV industry led him to design a fiberglass trailer. Alan, along with his son Nicolas, operates Smoakin Concepts Composites.

This innovative camper design succeeds in achieving the core goals of durability, strength, light weight, and aerodynamics allowing the Snoozy to be towed by even a midsized family car.

The aerodynamic design looks similar to the front of an airplane.

Customers love the Lil Snoozy because Lil’ is only 19 feet in length, 8 feet in width, and 8 feet, 1 inch high. The interior space is 14 feet, 6 inches by 6 feet, 6 inches.

The Snoozy comes standard with a queen size bed which will sleep two and the “jack knife” sofa can accommodate one adult or two children.

The cabinets are made of quality Red Oak and sealed with two coats of Valspar water resistant lacquer and two coats of Valspar water resistant sealer.

There is enough room above the cabinets, opposite the loveseat, for installation of up to a 42-inch TV.

The Snoozy come standard with a Kenmore 8,000 BTU Air Conditioner with remote control and custom fiberglass cover and a 1500 watt ceramic space heater.

Installed is a 4 gallon hot water heater. It takes approximately seven minutes to heat the water through.

The Snoozy comes standard with a Magic Chef 3.6 cu. ft. refrigerator and a removable two burner cook top. An optional microwave is also available.

Based on customer feedback, the company has made several changes and improvements to the livability of Lil’Snoozy.

Also, after experimenting with several different floor plans it became obvious that the floor plan currently offered is the best use of interior space. It was also, far and away, the most popular. With that being said Lil’ Snoozy will make reasonable modifications, such as omitting a structure, additional cabinetry or windows, if requested.
