$2.5 million plans are in the works to build a new factory in Bristol that will produce the ‘next generation’ of recreational vehicles.
InnoVator RV will do so without using any wood, metal, or aluminum on the vehicle structure itself, reports WNDU.com.
“This material, we believe, is the strongest in the industry. We have it trademarked as Parma Shield,” said company co-owner Phillip Biscan while rapping his knuckles on the shell of a 25 foot prototype.
“And it’s just strong, just strong as all get out.”
It’s so strong that Parma Shield accounts for every fiber of the InnoVator unibody chassis.
“It’s like a fiber stranded polymer, it’s a cross woven between different polymers to get a panel strength that’s required for the structure,” said InnoVator co-owner Randy Carr.
“You’re going against bigger companies that’s been in it for years, they’re well financed, I mean it’s hard to build what they’re building and outdo them at their game, so the only way that we can do it is to try to change the game.”
Weighing at some 3,700 pounds, the polymer RV is said to be about 1,000 pounds lighter than traditional vehicles of similar size, so the InnoVator slide out is bigger (88 inches long and 48 inches wide) and the ceilings are higher.
“In the industry, there is no shower as tall as this. It’s seven-foot-one inches,” said Lynn Biscan with InnoVator who further notes that the interior Parma Shield walls can even be painted.
“And so it’s a make-your-own interior.”
The InnoVator has been 17 years in the making—only now is it finally ready to move out of the prototype stage and into production.
“We wanted to have it tested and we didn’t want to test it on customers,” said Phillip Biscan.
Unlike the aluminum, steel, and wood typically used in RV construction, Parma Shield is a material that doesn’t appear to wear out.
“We’ve soaked some of this material for six months in water with no ill effects,” said Phillip Biscan.
“Everybody tries their best to build a good product, okay; it’s just that I think we developed materials for us to build a better product.”
Biscan says work on the new plant is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018.
The 25 foot InnoVator will sell for about $35,000.
I would like to share the one for today with you…
Live one day at a time–
While you can plan for tomorrow, you can’t live it until it arrives. Most people spend so much time regretting the past and worrying about the future, they leave no time to enjoy today!
John Lennon once wrote, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” Decide to make the most of each moment.
