Nearly one out of every four motorhomes sold in America are produced by Thor Motor Coach (TMC), the No. 1 subsidiary company of motorhomes in the United States according to data provided by Statistical Surveys Inc.
Thor Motor Coach’s motorhomes make up more than 23 percent of the U.S. market share, the company reported in a news release.
The combination of retail sales from the United States and Canada make Thor Motor Coach the retail leader for all of North America.
Strong performance from individual models includes A.C.E., the No. 1 selling gas-powered Class A motorhome, and Four Winds, the No. 1 selling Class C motorhome.
Big market share gainers include the Palazzo diesel with a 200 percent increase, the Windsport Class A with a 104 percent increase, and the Tuscany diesel with a 58 percent increase in units retailed during 2013.

Innovative new designs like the Axis and Vegas Recreational Utility Vehicles (RUVs) created a new segment of motorhomes, making “a big impression with the media and consumers throughout the RV industry,” the company reported.
The Axis and Vegas also received the inaugural RV Business 2014 RV of the Year Award.

The Outlaw brand of toy haulers continued to build a strong presence in the market with the introduction of two new Class C models, helping it to gain a substantial 63 percent unit sales increase over 2012.
