Cabin Bright Replaces Fluorescent with LED

Lebanon, Ohio-based Cabin Bright introduced a new line of products designed to easily replace a recreational vehicle’s existing 12-volt fluorescent tubes with brighter, cleaner light, lower current draw without destroying the fixture wiring.

This 4 module conversion is used in 8-12 inch fixtures normally found above sinks and counter tops. It produces 768 Lumens, has a color temperature of 3250k (warm white) and only draws .5 amps.

The simple five- to 10-minute installation is accomplished with a pair of wire cutters and a screwdriver. Installers don’t have to be a mechanic or an electrician to do it, the company noted in a news release.

“Whether you have 12- or 18-inch tube fixtures, double or single tubes, switched or not, Cabin Bright has a product that fits your fixture, guaranteed,” said Joseph Brignolo, Cabin Bright owner.

“And you only need one per fixture. Our challenge was to provide a product which is universal across all motorhomes and fifth wheels, lasted a lifetime (MTBF=60,000 hours) and limited lifetime warranty, was easy to install, letting your coach batteries last longer, and cost less than half the price of other LED fluorescent tube replacements.”

Cabin Bright’s 12-inch products are designed to replace a 12-inch fluorescent tube and come in 4- and 6-module versions.

The 4-module unit (FLED/R12-96, $32) provides as much light, if not more, than existing tubes, according to Brignolo.

The 6-module unit (FLED/R12-144, $42) provides 50 percent more light than existing fluorescent tubes, he explained.

The 18-inch products are for single and double tube fixtures.

The 18-inch single tube 5-module replacement (FLED/SR18-120, $37) is 20 percent brighter than an existing tube, according to Brignolo.

The 18-inch double tube replacements are available in 8- and 10-module versions.

The 8-module unit (FLED/R18-192, $55) is as bright as existing tubes, and the 10-module unit (FLED/R18-240, $65.00) is 20 percent brighter than an existing tube.

“Remember, you only need one Cabin Bright replacement per fixture, they have a much lower current draw, are less than half the cost of the other products, and they each carry a limited lifetime warranty,” said Brignolo.
